About
On this channel, I provide tutorials for working with Python in a digital humanities project. I design my videos and tutorials for humanists who have no coding experience. I am a medieval historian by trade, but I create my videos with all humanists in mind. If you want to interact with the videos in more dynamic ways, check out my website, www.PythonHumanities.com. On that site, I host live coding exercises and quizzes. It is still a work in progress and will be complete during the Summer of 2020. I post 1-10 videos per week, so check back frequently. ✅Be my Patron: https://www.patreon.com/WJBMattingly
About Python Tutorials for Digital H…
Python Tutorials for Digital Humanities is a YouTube channel dedicated to bridging the gap between computational programming and academic research in the humanities. Operated by a professional medieval historian, the channel focuses on providing accessible Python instruction specifically tailored for scholars and students with little to no prior coding experience. The content strategy centers on practical application, guiding humanists through the technical requirements of digital humanities projects. Beyond the video content, the creator maintains an external platform, PythonHumanities.com, which serves as a repository for live coding exercises and interactive quizzes designed to reinforce the technical concepts covered in the tutorials. With a library of 297 videos, the channel maintains a high output frequency, often publishing between one and ten videos per week. The creator emphasizes a pedagogical approach that prioritizes clarity and utility for non-technical academic audiences. While the channel has historical roots in academic development, it serves as a functional resource for researchers looking to integrate data analysis and automated workflows into their historical or literary studies. The channel also leverages a Patreon presence to support its ongoing development and maintenance of educational resources. As of the most recent data, the channel has accumulated 3,589,856 total views across its entire video catalog, reflecting a consistent interest in niche, skill-based educational content within the digital humanities sector.
Python Tutorials for Digital H…'s estimated sponsorship rates
The estimated market rate for a sponsored video integration on Python Tutorials for Digital Humanities ranges from $78 to $122, with a typical valuation of $96. This pricing structure is determined by the channel’s current audience tier, which is classified as nano-influencer, and its specific positioning within the education niche. Several factors influence this valuation compared to broader entertainment or lifestyle channels. First, the channel operates within a highly specialized educational segment, which typically commands a higher Cost Per Mille (CPM) than general-interest content. The niche CPM band for this creator is estimated between $18 and $28, with an anchor value of $22, reflecting the high value brands place on reaching an audience interested in technical skill acquisition. Second, the creator’s rate is adjusted based on an average view count of 4,348 per video. Because the content is evergreen and serves as a long-term reference for students and researchers, the value of each view is higher than that of transient content. The pricing reflects the specialized nature of the audience, which consists of individuals actively seeking professional development and academic tools. For a detailed breakdown of how these figures are calculated, including the platform-specific multipliers and niche-weighted adjustments, please refer to our methodology page.
Who should partner with Python Tutorials for Digital H…?
The audience for Python Tutorials for Digital Humanities is primarily composed of academics, students, and researchers within the humanities who are seeking to integrate computational methods into their work. Given the channel’s focus on Python for medieval history and related fields, the demographic likely includes university-level learners and professionals in the digital humanities sector. This audience is distinct from general coding channels, as it is specifically interested in the intersection of traditional research methodologies and modern data analysis. Brands that align well with this audience include academic software providers, data analysis platforms, online learning management systems, and specialized educational technology tools. When comparing this audience to peers in the broader education category—such as 新代中文 NextGen Chinese & 同乐中文 TongLeC (39,100 subscribers) or 閱讀人 鄭俊德 (37,300 subscribers)—it is evident that Python Tutorials for Digital Humanities occupies a more technical, skill-based niche. While peers like 閱讀人 鄭俊德 focus on literature and general education, this channel serves a specific subset of the population requiring technical proficiency. The audience's engagement is driven by the utility of the content, as evidenced by the creator’s integration of external quizzes and live coding exercises. This suggests an audience that is highly active and likely to engage with brands that offer tangible, functional value to their research or study workflows.
Python Tutorials for Digital H…'s growth and performance
As of the most recent data snapshot on August 12, 2026, Python Tutorials for Digital Humanities maintains a subscriber base of 39,400. Our tracking data from the period between August 12, 2026, and the subsequent day shows a stable subscriber count, with a delta of zero during that 24-hour window. Because our tracking for this specific creator began on August 12, 2026, we do not yet have a longitudinal view-count history or a long-term growth trajectory to analyze. The current snapshot serves as a baseline for future performance monitoring. Given the channel's high volume of published content—totaling 297 videos—the growth pattern is likely characterized by steady, incremental gains driven by search-based discovery rather than rapid, viral spikes. Future snapshots will be required to determine the velocity of subscriber acquisition and the impact of the creator’s frequent posting schedule on long-term channel growth.
How our pricing estimate works for Python Tutorials for Digital H…
The estimated rates and audience metrics provided for Python Tutorials for Digital Humanities are derived from our proprietary algorithmic model. This model calculates the value of a creator’s inventory by multiplying their subscriber count and average view count by niche-specific CPM (Cost Per Mille) bands. For this channel, we have utilized a niche CPM band of $18–$28, which is calibrated based on the educational and technical nature of the content. Our algorithm also applies platform-specific multipliers for YouTube to account for the engagement value of video-integrated sponsorships. The 'typical' rate reflects the median expected return based on the creator's current average of 4,348 views per video. Please note that these figures are estimates intended for benchmarking purposes and do not represent guaranteed market performance.
