Draft — not yet in effect
This page is a draft under review. It does not yet set out binding terms.
InfluencerUnion (“we”) is a marketplace where creators find brand collaborations and brands find creators. The service is operated by [Company legal name], Ron Li, Influencer Union, 3621 Southwick St, Mississauga, ON L5M 7N9, Canada.
This policy covers three groups of people: people with an account, creators whose public channel data appears on the site without an account, and people at brands we contact. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
If you have an account
- Sign-in: your email address. You sign in with a one-time link we email you; we do not store a password.
- Profile: your display name, profile picture, and whether you joined as a creator or a brand. Creators also give the channel handle, country and language they apply with. Brands give a brand name, website, logo, industry, company size and region.
- Claiming a channel: to prove a channel is yours, you add a short code to its public description and we check it through the YouTube API.
- What you do on the site: applications and the message you send with them, opportunities you post, messages between you and a brand or creator (including replies sent by email), saved opportunities and searches, notification settings, reviews after a collaboration, and brands you have blocked.
- Payments: paid plans are billed by Stripe. We keep your Stripe customer number, plan, subscription status and renewal date. We never see or store your card number.
Creators without an account (public channel data)
To show brands who is out there, we list public YouTube channels using the YouTube Data API. For each channel we keep its name, handle, picture, public description, country and language, subscriber, view and video counts, recent public videos (titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view counts), and the averages we calculate from them. We also add our own labels: a content category, an audience-size tier, and an automatically written profile summary.
Some channels publish a business email in their channel or video descriptions. We record it so a brand can send a message to you through InfluencerUnion. We do not show the address on the site or give it to brands.
We refresh this data regularly and do not keep YouTube data longer than 30 days without refreshing it. If a channel is deleted or made private, we remove its statistics and description. You can claim your profile to manage it, or ask us to remove it by writing to hello@influencerunion.com.
People at brands we contact
We invite brands to post opportunities. To do that we collect business contact details that brands publish themselves: emails and contact forms on their websites, their public social accounts, and public job postings for creator-marketing roles.
When we email a brand, we record whether the email was delivered, opened or clicked, whether the invitation link was visited (with the browser type), and any reply. Every invitation has an unsubscribe link, and replying “stop” also works; after that we do not contact the address again.
Everyone who visits
- Cookies:
iu_svid, a random identifier kept for one year, so we can count how many different people viewed an opportunity; and, if you sign in, Supabase sign-in cookies that keep you signed in. We use no advertising or analytics cookies. - Opportunity views: which opportunity was opened, when, and from which page, linked to the random identifier above (or your account if you are signed in). We do not store your IP address with it.
- Server logs: our hosting provider records technical request data, including IP address, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: show opportunities and creator profiles, deliver applications and messages, and send the emails you asked for.
- To match creators and opportunities, and to check that creator data is accurate and current.
- To invite brands to post opportunities (business-to-business email, with an unsubscribe link).
- To bill paid plans.
- To keep the service safe: block spam and abuse, and investigate problems.
Automated processing
We use AI models (Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude as an alternative) to classify channels and brands, summarise opportunity pages, check new listings for spam, and write channel profile summaries. We send the models only the text needed for the task — for example a channel's public description and video titles, or the text of an opportunity. No decision with legal or similar effect on you is made by these models alone.
YouTube API Services
InfluencerUnion uses YouTube API Services. By using the site you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We do not ask you to connect your YouTube account. If you ever authorise us through Google, you can withdraw that at Google security settings.
How long we keep it
- YouTube data: refreshed or removed within 30 days, as YouTube's rules require.
- Account data: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you ask us to close it, except what we must keep by law (for example billing records).
- Brand contact data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it; after an unsubscribe we keep only the address and the fact that it opted out, so we never contact it again.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom of it.
- Block a brand, or all brands, from contacting you, in your account settings.
- Claim your creator profile to correct it, or ask us to remove it.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, by writing to hello@influencerunion.com. We reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example in Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have further rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your data-protection authority. Write to us and we will help.
Where data is stored
Our database is in Canada. Our hosting, email, payment and AI providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on contractual safeguards for these transfers.
Children
You must be at least 18 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has given us information, write to hello@influencerunion.com and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and email account holders about significant changes. Contact: hello@influencerunion.com, or [Company legal name], Ron Li, Influencer Union, 3621 Southwick St, Mississauga, ON L5M 7N9, Canada. See also the Terms of Service.
